Vietnam grants visa exemption to citizens of 24 countries: Latest list & Conditions

• From March 15, 2025, to March 14, 2028, the Government of Vietnam issued Resolution No. 44/NQ-CP, allowing visa exemption for citizens of 12 countries to facilitate economic and tourism exchanges.
• In addition, under Resolution No. 229, the Government introduced a tourism stimulus program granting visa exemptions to citizens of 12 other countries, effective from August 15, 2025, to August 14, 2028, with a temporary stay of up to 45 days

1. List of 24 countries eligible for visa exemption (45 Days)

Nationals of the following countries are allowed to enter Vietnam without a visa for a maximum of 45 days (regardless of passport type and entry purpose), provided they fully comply with Vietnam’s entry regulations:

• Germany
• France
• Italy
• Spain
• United Kingdom
• Russia
• Japan
• South Korea
• Denmark
• Sweden
• Norway
• Finland

Citizens of these countries entering Vietnam for tourism purposes are allowed to stay for up to 45 days, regardless of passport type. The visa exemption policy effective from August 15, 2025, to August 14, 2028, applies to the following countries:

• Belgium
• Republic of Bulgaria
• Republic of Croatia
• Czech Republic
• Hungary
• Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
• Kingdom of the Netherlands
• Republic of Poland
• Romania
• Slovak Republic
• Republic of Slovenia
• Swiss Confederation

2. Implementation period & Extension

• Effective period: From 15/03/2025 to 14/03/2028. The policy may be considered for extension according to Vietnam’s legal provisions. Previous regulations ceased: Resolution No. 32/NQ-CP (15/03/2022) and No. 128/NQ-CP (14/08/2023) will no longer be effective from 15/03/2025.
• Validity period: from August 15, 2025, to August 14, 2028. The policy may be subject to extension in accordance with Vietnamese law.
